Permit Agreements

I received a citation for No Parking Permit, can the ticket be voided for a parking permit purchase?

Parking Services may be able to offer an Agreement for the first citation given for No Parking Permit within the same academic year if the agreed upon permit is purchased within one (1) week of citation date. Login to your account in the UT Parking Portal to purchase your permit, then send an email to ParkingOffice@utahtech.edu with your name, D#, ticket number, and request for the Permit Agreement.

Qualifying Permits: Annual Student, Annual Housing, Annual General Faculty/Staff, Annual Premium Faculty/Staff

Note: Agreement requests may be denied if prior history shows repeated warnings or citations for no parking permit.

Appeals & Payments

What happens if I pay the citation within the 7 day Incentive period and my appeal is approved?

If your appeal is approved and you paid the citation within the one week Incentive period, the amount you paid will be refunded to you via the method of payment used.

What happens if I pay the citation within the 7 day Incentive period and my appeal is denied?

If your appeal is denied and you paid the citation within the one week Incentive period, the ticket will be marked paid and no additional fines or fees will be added.

What happens if my appeal is denied and I didn’t pay the 7 day Incentive amount?

If the appeal is denied and the fine was not paid within the one week Incentive period (pay by date is printed under the fine amount), the fine owed will be the Total Amount listed on the citation. If unresolved 30 days after issue, a late fee of $25.00 will be added to the citation.

Late Fees & Holds

What happens if I get a citation and don’t resolve it?

Each citation is entered into a computer database that tracks them. If a citation is not cleared by an appeal filed within 15 days or by payment within 30 days of issue, a $25 late fee will be charged. If the citation is not cleared, it goes to a delinquent fines list. Students who have not cleared citations will be subject to a registration, graduation, and/or transcript hold. In the case that the owner/driver of a vehicle cannot be matched to a student or employee, the registered owner of the vehicle will be responsible for and receive a mailed copy of the citation as well as information on how to resolve the ticket.

How do I clear a hold to register, get transcripts, and graduate?

Payment of fines and fees will release holds on your account. The holds release process runs overnight; for example, if the fine is paid anytime before 12:00 midnight MST, the hold will release early AM the following day. If you would like to request a same-day hold release, please contact our office before closing time (University holidays and breaks may affect these hours) as we may be able to manually release the hold before regular closing time of 5:00pm.

Registration: University balances below $200 will allow registration. If the balance is above $200 payment must be made to bring the balance under $200 and release the Over $200 hold.

Transcripts and Graduation: University balances must be paid and at 0 to release the hold.
