Q&A

Summer Camps, Workshops, Conferences, Swim Lessons & Meets

Guests (non – students, faculty, staff) are welcome to park in green-marked Visitor or white-marked Student/General stalls during summer months (May 5 – Aug 15) without a parking pass. If you would like to request one, however, you are welcome to do so via the links above. See below for more information on overnight, loading/unloading, and R.V. parking.

Loading and Unloading

Temporary parking near building or area access points to load and unload is permitted on campus provided vehicle flashers are left on for the duration (i.e. for events). Once loading/unloading is finished, the vehicle must be moved; if moved to a campus parking lot, the vehicle must have the authorized permit or pass that corresponds with the stall it is parked in.

The only time an appeal for “loading or unloading” will be considered is if the individual can show a valid need to park in a particular area to load, and show they left their emergency flashers on for the duration.

Bus Pick Up/Drop Off and Parking

Welcome bus drivers! On the Bus Parking Map you will find designated drop off and pick up areas located around campus and where to park for the duration of your visit. Please work with your campus coordinator to identify which drop off/pick up area would work best for your event.

Please note, bus parking is permitted on the east side of lot N (400-450 S 900 E) only for ease of parking and maneuverability, and not permitted in lot M (300 S 700 E) at any time.

R.V. Parking

RV parking is permitted in lot K East and N East during daytime hours only. To request an R.V., Motor Home/Camper day parking pass, submit the Pass Requests by Guest form and include “for R.V.” in the Reason for Visit. A PDF printable pass will be emailed to you, along with a parking map. Trucks pulling trailers must remain hitched while parked on campus.

EV Charging

At this time campus does not have charging stations for electric vehicles, but the University is looking into the possibility of EV Chargers in the future.

NOTE: Electrical outlets around campus (i.e. outside building, palm tree lighting, etc.) are not equipped for EV charging and plugging a vehicle in to charge is prohibited.

What happens if I get a citation for No Parking Permit and/or Parking in a Visitor Reserved Stall and I am not a student or employee?

To request a visitor-void, please submit a request online OR fill out the Visitor portion on the back of the citation and give to your Utah Tech Event Coordinator or send to: UT Parking Services Office, 225 S University Ave, St George UT 84770.

What happens if I get a citation and don't resolve it?

Each citation is entered into a computer database that tracks them. If a citation is not cleared by visitor-void or appeal within 15 days, or payment within 30 days of issue, a $25 late fee will be charged. If the citation is not cleared, it goes to a delinquent fines list. In the case that the owner/driver of a vehicle cannot be matched to a student or employee, the registered owner of the vehicle will be responsible for and receive a mailed copy of the citation.
